I have been told over and over that if I volunteer and get involved in my local Realtor® association it won’t suck. Like all Realtor® associations they don’t ask what they can do for members they ask what members can do for them in addition to paying our dues of course.
My local association did something for me. They gave sold my email address to every vendor who had a booth in the vendor hall at a recent event. Those vendors have started sending me email. . . I don’t even know who to thank.
Teresa, in my case, I thank the GoogleGods for providing me with the “mark as spam” button. I use this after I flame them for sending spam in the first place.
BTW, does your does your association read your blogs?

Hi Jim. Yes I have a mark as spam button too for those special times when my association sells my email address. They don’t read my blogs because I am not a volunteer.

I do like this post tho. Had a fun experience at my board yesterday. I too keep getting the same encouragement to get involved and help. I honestly am not sure for what reason i would though. Still struggling with it
