Platitudes

I had a draft post about business mythology but I decided that platitude is a better word. I have heard all the platitudes. Work smarter not harder. If you do what you love the money will come. Hard work will pay off. You need to have a positive attitude.

Nothing new or profound or even useful or remotely helpful. I would take the time to pick each statement apart and offer analysis and real life examples but people who live by platitudes are usually more emotional than analytical and I have already wasted too many 1’s and 0’s with this blog of mass destruction cleverly disguised as a hot dog stand.

Oh my the list goes on and on and it gets worse. If you are working as hard as you can and struggling to make ends meet it might just be time to examine the platitudes about work and money. They may be holding you back, and keeping you working hard for little or nothing.  Rejecting platitudes can lead to new ideas and innovation. On a national or global level rejecting work platitudes could topple governments.
