A bit of a pickle – Blog for sale

Pickle I have been in a bit of a pickle, trying to decide what to do with this blog, disguised as a hot dog stand.

Judging from the number of hits it continues to get I think there is a place here in the real estate blogosphere for such a blog.  Both consumers and real estate professionals could use a little more information and advice about real estate related technology products.

There is also some bad advice out there for real estate professionals.  I think we are all a little gullible when it comes to exactly how to use the Internet as a tool to win business, build relationships and of course sell our listings.  There are vendors out there that really take advantage of us with their well designed web sites and credible sounding sales pitches, for products and services that are either over priced, useless or simply do not deliver the results they promise.

As I consider time to be my most valuable asset I have to consider the best uses of my time and talent.  At this point I do not have enough of either to take the real estate weenie to the next level.  Yesterday I announced the I am going to sell the real estate weenie.  One person has expressed an interest in the blog, and of course the domain name, [www.realestateweenie.com] the dog, daisy stays with me, but the rest it for sale.  Interested parties should go to: www.StPaulRealEstateBlog.com and use the contact information to reach me and make an offer.

For_sale_2 I really hate to let the weenie go after all that we have been through together.

It seems like just yesterday, or maybe last week that this was nothing more than a picture in my mind.  it is different than the voices in my head in that I was able to take that picture and make it come to life.  This may be the only real estate blog, disguised as a hot dog stand in the blogoshpere.

Even though it has been ridiculed I think there is a little real estate weenie in all of us and that no harm is done by writing about it.

I would like to make this process go as quickly as possible so interested parties should make their intentions known as soon as possible.  I will also throw in some of my time to get the site optimized before giving the keys to the new owner.

Have a great weekend!

Of course, I would like to buy the weenie,
but I am already a marketing consultant. Too much redundancy there.

Want to make sure you can defend yourself from internet bad guys? Aim for the body, not the head . . .

However: Policing comments in your own weblog is not censorship.

I do feel for Kathy Sierra, and I wish her peace and solace. My own experience is that anonymous internet snipers are cowards to a man in the real world. But if she and the Babbitts really want to do something to find peace of mind, they would probably better off investing their time in martial arts, self-defense and firearms training. I doubt anything will happen, but if a war of words does turn into a war of weapons, it’s good to know where to aim…

    Dear Weenie,

I do not dare post this on the Bloodhound thread, for fear of some sort of reprisal, so I am posting here. (:

Where to start. I think He (Greg Swan) is recommending guns as an answer to a blogger who “flames” your blog, I am not sure, but I hope he is not serious, this better be a metaphore, even though not a very good one.

As for his statement above about censorship, if a blog holds Up Licenses and an expertise in a subject (Real Estate in Bloodhound land), and pro ports to give consumers advise, and a poster writes in a PROFESSIONAL and reasonable manner a comment that may be correct, but cost the Real Estate License Sales Person a little commission, that is censorship, IMO.

    okay, I feel better now.

Good luck selling, I hope a ‘Good Guy’ buys your sight, sour kraut and all.
