Good Behavior

Mustard It took awhile to muster up the time and energy to write on this outrageous blog cleverly disguised at a hot dog stand.

Before I Begin let me advise readers that the content of this post may not be suitable for viewing by all audiences.  Persons who are likely to think it is about them or that this blogs author is evil, and are on a crusade to seek out and destroy evil blog writers should leave now, unless they are incorruptible, and go read one of the 70 million other blogs out there.

I read something disturbing on a blog post earlier today.  Yah, I know ,big deal there is much in the world to be disturbed about.  This stood out because I saw friends of mine being attacked which is worse than being attacked myself. (please don’t interpret this to mean that I wish to be attacked again)

Last week my Friends at Sellsius Real estate stood up for me and helped me defend my position.  They showed trust and respect and believed me when I told  them how this hot dog stand came to be.  No lie detector test they just took my word for it. They could have ignored it all, I am sure Joseph had better things to do on a Saturday night than look for trousers to put on a naked cowboy.

For their efforts they have been accused of influencing me to do evil deeds. Last weekend I had wanted to publicly thank them for their kindness and respect but was afraid to do so for fear I would provoke yet another attack.  I was wrong for not speaking up, I just did not know how to do it without making matters worse.  I owe Joe and Rudy an apology for my inaction.  Here is what I would like to say:

I was not in contact with anyone from Sellsius while I was undeleting this blog and putting it back up, nor was I in contact with anyone when I built this hot dog stand. If anyone is offended by what I do with the blog my suggestion is don’t read it. The gentlemen at Sellsius, and I do mean gentlemen in the strictest sense of the word are people with high moral standards who are not afraid to speak up for what they believe in and stand behind their convictions. It has been stated in comments and on blog posts that Sellsius influenced my decision to leave this blog up and to create a podcast explaining it, they did not. I am so grateful for their help through this that I don’t even know how to thank them, except to hold myself to the same high standards that they hold themselves to. I was and am in favor of the debate they proposed I see it as a healthy response to a sick situation. They approached the situation with humor and grace, which I really appreciated, and think we can all learn from. As for the Sellsius blog to me it will always be my favorite read. Funny, informative and full of fresh ideas. A positive force in the real estate blogging community.

Both Joseph Ferrara and Rudolph Bachraty III, have demonstrated numerous times their desire to help other real estate blog writers.  They always do and say the right thing leaving kind and thoughtful comments all over the Internet.

Sellsius involvement with this weapon of mass destruction disguised as a hot dog stand was bigger than me or than anyone attacking my ideas or attacking me as a person.   It was about not idly standing by while one, or more people bully another and about defending every bloggers right to freedom of speech.

You walked into the weenie
Like you were walking onto a yacht
Your hat strategically dipped below one eye
Your scarf it was apricot
You had one eye in the mirror
As you watched yourself gavotte
And all the girls dreamed that they’d be your partner
They’d be your partner, and

You’re so vain
You probably think this blog is about you
You’re so vain
I’ll bet you think this blog is about you
Don’t you? Don’t you?

My apologies to Carly Simon

  1. So far, we have not weighed in on this, but now it’s time! We have a bit of a libertarian streak in us, and you have the right nay, the duty, to speak your mind.
We have lurked on the various blogs, and read the applicable posts therein and the comments thereto, weighed the evidence, and the factual evidence clearly supports your position.

  2. Thanks but I am a bit concerned you guys should maybe talk to boomer for me he is threatening to ground me from the internet and or hide my lap top. He is sounding a bit edgy and he is still bigger than I am. 🙂

  3. Teresa, OK, if you’re banned from the computer, we stand a chance of overtaking you on AR…on the other hand, you know where the key is, c’mon over & help yourself to my computer…just leave the quarter on the desk 🙂

  4. Teresa,
I can’t help but laugh when I read some of your blogs. (My husband is looking at me wondering what is so funny. He is not into blogging so he doesn’t understand. At least I have an outlet to escape to when he is watching all the basketball and hockey tourneys going on.) Anyway, your dry sense of humor is much like mine and I can’t help but lol. Thanks!

Teresa, well stated… now let’s make the Weenie the humorous site it was intended to be… 🙂

  6. Christine says:

So in other words Teresa –
“We LOVE the boys at Sellsius”..

    Did I nail it?

  7. Perhaps I came in late, but what’s the point of a quixotic campaign to wrest your freedom of expression from the Manichean forces of censorship, if all you do with it is discourage the people you’re bagging on from reading you? Don’t you want the people you’re bagging on to read you?

Carly Simon’s OK, but if you really want to be there, Bob Dylan makes a much better accompaniment — I recommend “Positively Fourth Street” or “Idiot Wind” especially.

I’ve been blogsearch.googling and technorati-ing all over, but for the life of me I can’t figure out who Carly Simon’s singing about. Is it Greg Swann? Is it Brian Brady? Is it that guy Greg threw out, and what’s up with that? Someone I don’t know because I don’t do ActiveRain?

I hope it’s not Jesus. If it’s Jesus, an awful lot of people are going to be very disappointed.

Carly didn’t start taking up with a straw man after James Taylor, did she?

    Evil

Seeing things from this perspective, we see that there is no one who is really bad. No one is evil in an absolute way. Everyone does what he thinks is good. There is no bad person, there is no evil person; there is only the ignorant person. (Diamond Heart Book 3, pg 137)

  9. John, I appreciate (albeit from without) your author’s new age point of view. My point is that — setting aside the issue of whether anyone is truly evil — there’s still some presumably non-imaginary person being bagged on.

Whether the person being bagged on is truly evil begs the question of whether the person being bagged on truly exists and can be discovered by appeals to clarity.

You’d think that by the light of all the torches the mob is carrying we’d be able to spot the quarry. But so far all we’ve come up with is some 1970s soft rock.

Perhaps I should have listened to the podcast while it was still up. But the night air of the moor leaves me addled, until finally hunter and game become indistiniguishable.

    Who’s zoomin’ who?
